Wordmi splits the subtitle of the scene you're watching in two. Tap a word you don't know and it stays with you — together with the sentence it came from — then comes back on exactly the right day.

bottom line

A platform's own subtitle drifts to fit the scene and stops being a translation of the line above it. In literal mode the bottom line is generated straight from the top sentence, so the words line up.

try it

  • Hover a word — see what it means in this sentence.
  • Click it — the word drops into your vault with its sentence, bottom left.
  • Press the ? button — the scene pauses and the grammar opens up.
00:04:30how it works

Three steps, none of them interrupt the show

All of Wordmi rests on these three moves. Everything else happens in the background.

  1. 1Watch

    The subtitle splits in two

The platform's own subtitle switches off and two lines take its place: the language you're learning on top, yours underneath. You pick both — and the size, colour and position too.

Al final se saliósaliówent outsalirse con la suya: to get one's way con la suya.

In the end she got her way.

    21:38
  2. 2Tap

    The word keeps its sentence

Tap the word that tripped you up. The meaning comes from that sentence, and the word is stored with the line, the episode and the date. The scene never stops.

A word never arrives alone: its sentence, its episode and its date come with it.

  3. 3Practise

It comes back on the right day

Everything you collect turns into flashcards, multiple choice, fill-in-the-blank and matching. Every answer sets the date of the next review.

From a subtitle line to knowledge that stays

Each piece picks up where the last one stopped: the sentence gives context to the word, the word becomes practice, and practice sets the review schedule.

dual subtitles

You choose both languages

The top line is the language you're learning, the bottom one is yours. The platform's own subtitle switches off and the two lines run in exact sync with the video. Size, colour, background and position are all set separately.

The only teacher who knows you

The tutor runs on your data: how many attempts a word took, which sentence you asked about, what you keep confusing with what. Try the cards on the right.

Over the last seven days you've been getting Spanish idioms right on the second try. Fancy a quick three-question round?

sure, but keep it short

Short it is. All from words you collected: salirse con la suya, otra vez, no tener otra opción.

The tutor isn't a general chatbot. It reads how many attempts each word took, which sentences you asked about and which word you keep mixing up with which — and builds the question from that.

No ····· otra opción.

Arena questions don't come from a ready-made bank; every round is generated from your vault that week. Your answer moves both the word's review date and your Elo.
